Another week down and I’m still at it. I really believe that sharing my thoughts on the interwebs is making a huge difference in whether or not I stick with this running/fitness/healthy eating regime. For all the times I have given up within a few weeks of starting working out, it’s almost unbelievable that I’ve been doing this for 5 weeks and I still plan on keeping it up. I love this quote I found:
As for my running, I ran 4 times this week, so now I’m only 1 day behind in the C25K program. Which kinda scares me since Day 3 of Week 5 calls for running 20 minutes non-stop. I’m really not sure I have it in me to run that long without a walking break. But, then again, I didn’t think I’d be able to get this far and I have, so we’ll see how the next week goes. The Ferocous 5K I signed up for is just 3 weeks away and I’m really aiming for running it non-stop. Thankfully the weather has been really nice in Chicago lately and I’ve been able to complete all my running outside. I’m hoping the coming week is just as nice because there’s no way I could do a longer distance on a treadmill. Too boring! I also feel like I’m super-conscious of the time on a treadmill and the seconds totally drag.
This week I only worked out one other time (a 30-minute Zumba routine) aside from my running. But, I am happy to report that my workouts, along with tracking everything I eat in the MyFitnessPal app, helped me lose 2.3 pounds this week! I’ll take that over a gain any day. And it’s a pretty decent one-week loss too.
I still want to resume my kettlebell workouts – because I loved those – and I need to add more strength training into my weeks. I not only want to lose more weight, but gain strength and endurance too. Wish me luck on finishing Week 5 and starting Week 6 of the C25K this week. Trust me, I’m going to need it!
